Good questions Gregory,

I worked up a 'power budget' which showed me how much energy I need to generate (using solar panels, and hence how many and ratings, etc...). The solar panels I will use are 'semi-rigid' or 'semi-flexible' (same thing), and I will have 200 watts of primary solar panels on my ocean row boat "Liberty".

The batteries I will use are sealed gel marine/solar system batteries. They do need a bit of air, but can be mounted in any position. I will use 4 main batteries, giving me around 393 amp hours of reserve power.

Have you decided on the number of solar panels and types? What type of batteries? How many? Do the batteries need to be vented or can they be stored in an airtight compartment?
